64th GEA Search and Rescue Exercise was held in Istanbul on 31 March – 1 April with the participation of GEA Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Eskişehir and Izmit teams. In the first two days of the exercise, which was held with the participation of 69 international and national operation team members, following trainings were conducted: structure of search and rescue teams, team management, logistics, medical training, rescue operations, coordination system and operational experiences. In the last 24 hours of the exercise, simulated field works were carried for technical search, types of collapse patterns and building triage, vertical and horizontal drilling at debris, first response to the victim and descending stretcher with rope.
