Team GEA organizes a broad spectrum of voluntary, 3-month long seminars that offer theoretical training and drills at certain intervals on annual basis. The basic training courses are intended for increased personal awareness of the individuals on disasters and to enable them to become prepared as required.
Each individual accomplishing the basic search and rescue training course may become a part of the GEA team of volunteers providing to attend the advanced level search and rescue training programs for 1.5 years and meet the criteria required to join Team GEA. GEA volunteers have sufficient capabilities to take part in search and rescue operations in the disasters in the national territory.
Becoming a member of Team GEA requires participation in the advanced level search and rescue courses held on a weekly basis as well as taking part in the monthly and annual national & international drills, and signing the GEA Declaration of Volunteering and Ethics.
