GEA Assessment Team – Iran & Pakistan

After the 7.8 M earthquake that occurred on the Iran-Pakistan border at 13.45 on April 16, Turkey, the GEA Search and Rescue Team decided to send an Assessment Team to the earthquake area due to the limited flow of information after the earthquake.

The team, including our members who participated in Search and Rescue efforts in the 2003 Iranian earthquake, also made preparations for the emergency response and rescue operation; It reached Zahedan to Tehran with THY’s scheduled flight at 01.15 on the night of 16 April.

Having completed the evaluation studies in the region, the team returned to our country on Friday, April 19, as there was no need for them in the region.
