65th GEA Search and Rescue Exercise was held between 29 August – 2 September.
105 national and international operation team members from GEA Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Eskişehir, Izmit, Izmir and Van teams participated in the exercise.
During the four-day exercise, theoretical and practical training were held on volunteering, teamwork, logistics, medical, technical search, dog search, building triage, marking, support systems in debris, first aid to the victim, and lowering stretcher with rope.
Practical studies were carried out in the debris and simulation areas in Istanbul and Izmit in the last 36 hours of the exercise.
Last 36 hours of the exercise was completed in Istanbul and Izmit debris and simulation areas with practical training.
