INSARAG Team Leaders Meeting

The 2014 INSARAG team leaders meeting was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, between 21-24 September 2014.

Kadir Erkan and Harun Markopcuoğlu attended the meeting, which was hosted by Qatar Civil Defense team, to represent GEA Search and Rescue Team.

Meeting was held with a total of 140 participants from 37 countries. At the meeting, 2013-2014 INSARAG activities, the INSARAG guide to be published in 2015 and new technologies that can be used in search and rescue activities were introduced.

The agenda of this year’s meeting was the new version of INSARAG guide, which search and rescue teams use as a source document. On the second day of the meeting, introductory presentations of this guide consisting of four parts were made. Later, under the leadership of the working groups of this guide, workshops were held with the participation of team leaders to develop the guide. In line with the results of these workshops, the guide is aimed to be completed and published at the beginning of 2015.
