National Search Dog Teams Test – GEA K9 Team

GEA K9 team members Barra and her trainer Elif Akın Kahriman passed the National Search Dog Teams Test.
The “National Search Dog Teams Test”, which was prepared to determine the working and testing principles of the Search Dog Teams that will operate for live search in case of disasters and emergencies, was held for the third time between 18-27 November in Izmir.
The test was held in two stages, consisting of Training Proficiency and Task Proficiency. First, the teams were subjected to the Training Proficiency Test by the Search Dog Team Evaluation Commission chaired by the Governorship of Izmir. In this test, the dog and its trainer passed the aggression, orientation, obedience, agility and barking on a box tests. Afterwards, the dogs and their trainers, who were successful in the first test were subjected to a two-stage Proficiency Test in the debris.

Elif Akin Kahriman from our Search Dog Unit and her dog Barra have successfully completed the Training Proficiency and Task Proficiency tests, and with this result they have gained the competence to work in disasters that may occur in Turkey or abroad.
