25 volunteers from the GEA İzmir team moved to the area together with AFAD and AKS.
Immediately after the mining accident that took place in Manisa – Soma on Tuesday, May 13 at around 03:10 pm, the GEA İzmir team gathered and started preparations. The team, which reached the region in a short time, supported the search and rescue activities carried out in the mine tunnels under the coordination of the authorities.
In the following hours, our team, who evaluated the ongoing fire and other risks in the mine, completed their work by meeting with AFAD authorities and ended the operation in the morning.
