Art and Volunteering Together at GEA!

Anjelika Akbar gave a concert for the GEA Search and Rescue Team’s simulation area. Akbar’s touch on the keys aroused a great enthusiasm in art lovers.

 Before the concert, at the Ataturk Cultural Center, the project exhibition for the simulation area prepared by Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Architecture attracted great attention. At the beginning of the concert, Associate Professor Nilgun Colpan Erkan from the same faculty gave information about the GEA Search and Rescue Simulation Area Project.

 In her speech, the Public Relations Officer Emel Tokuyan said, “For 27 years, we have reached more than 700 thousand people with our volunteer members, with 19 branches and representation offices in 12 cities, with 16 thousand activities. The GEA Team has been our pride by providing medical and humanitarian aid support in 43 disasters, both nationally and internationally. We would like to express our gratitude to all our friends, who are with us tonight, to Ms. Anjelika Akbar and to Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Architecture. 

The GEA Search and Rescue Coordinator Umut Dincsahin, who is currently training the Peace Winds Japan team in Japan, conveyed his greetings.

With the love for wisdom, learning, research and application, we will continue to be better human beings and take steps forward for a better world.”

Anjelika Akbar, who learned music notes at the age of 2.5, who started the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory at the age of 4, and who has more than 400 music compositions, gave a music feast to her fans during the night. The songs, such as Love, Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım, Haydar Haydar, Yine Bir Gülnihal, Circle of Love, fascinated the audience. As a Turkey lover, Anjelika Akbar indicated that she loved Izmir in particular, and stated that she was happy to be with the Izmir audience.
