After the building collapsed on Wednesday, February 6 at 04:00 pm in Istanbul Kartal, our search and rescue team consisting of 20 team members and 1 K9 dog went to the region and started to support the search and rescue works in the building under the coordination of AFAD.
As of 10:50 pm, a casualty was identified and rescued as wounded and handed over to 112 Health Teams, by the collaboration with UMKE teams.
Our second team, consisting of 10 GEA volunteers went to the wreck and were involved in the work at 03:00 am.
Our team continues to support works with other teams under the coordination of AFAD, despite the occasional interruption of search and rescue efforts throughout the night due to the safety hazard in the surrounding buildings.
We extend our condolences to all our citizens affected by the collapse. Wishing soonest recovery for those injured in the collapse.
